Adriana Livingston
Founder and primary caregiver at Circle Playgarden
Born and raised in the town of Sonoma, Adriana Livingston brings a wealth of experience to caring for young children. A Waldorf alumna (K-8) and graduate of the United States Naval Academy, she holds a Waldorf Teaching Certificate from the Waldorf Institute of Southern California for both early childhood and grades education (2010).
Before starting Circle Playgarden, Ms. Adriana worked and taught at Summerfield Waldorf School & Farm, the Marin Waldorf School and the Waldorf School of San Diego.
Adriana enjoys spending time singing with the children, doing seasonal crafts, gardening, woodworking, engaging in artistic activities and finding moments of synchronicity.
She feels a deep connection to the guidelines from Rudolf Steiner to...

When I created my home child care it was born out of a transition from working for Waldorf schools, which I had done for 16 years, to wanting to provide an environment for caring for young children in my family home. My home in Sebastopol has a calming, grounding, and nurishing energy and matches my personallity which I hope to share with the families who choose to attend Circle Playgarden."

The Name - Circle Playgarden
When I was a young child, growing up in Sonoma Valley, I attending a small child care called Circle Camp run by wonderful teachers that I remember fondly. It still holds a place in my heart!
And when I first moved onto our property on Lone Pine Rd I was inspired to create a large circle garden and mowed a circle in the field to start the process (still in process) of creating that garden. This garden grows each year and eventually will be a place for the children and families to play. It has aromatics like lavendar, and a weeping willow that bends with the wind and eventually will gift us with long willow whips that are prefect for creating willow crowns for the children!
When I decided to open my home child care the image of a circle surrounding each one of us came to me. The circle of care that surrounds each and every human being - created by family and friends, our relatives and ancestors, and even the invisible forces of nature and spirit.
